Tonight, at 3:36, it will bee exactly 4 years since the terrible earthquake that have been hitting the middle of Italy killing about 300 people. I think it’s a must we don’t forget it:
When I returned to Italy, before the outbreak of the pandemic, I decided to take two trips to retrace my steps in Wandering Italia: the first time was a “pleasure trip” to Rocca Calascio, the second had a much deeper meaning because I returned to those places that had a devastating emotional impact on me, for what I saw and for the people I met.
And if during my journey, and then in my return last year, I decided out of a form of respect not to document the devastation caused by the cursed 2016 earthquake, this time I have decided to do completely the opposite to show you in what conditions still pour.
Because, probably, like me in 2018, you can’t imagine …
Why not talk about it only at Christmas!
Because, Christ, it would also be time to do something!
Not to forget!
PS:
The video was shot on March 4 and, as soon as the pandemic broke out, I thought it appropriate to avoid bringing more sadness, anger and desolation.
Now I think the time has come to give dignity and a voice to those people who have lost everything and who, for almost 4 years, have been living in unacceptable conditions.
Below you will find two videos, the full 15-minute report, and a shorter one of only images and music.
